Week 23

Photo Album: https://photos.app.goo.gl/QuW5JQQJL6emqhb68 There's a member that lives in the Lewisberry area and he's a pretty successful businessman and really loves working with the missionaries and helping them figure out their lives and taking them out to go get food. Recently he's been us out to lunch and dinner multiple times spending lots of money and I'm so grateful for him. He gives lots of good advice on how to really evolve yourself and become the man you're meant to be. He hosted a Red Robin birthday party on Monday for when I turned 19 and it was so fun. He has this door to door sales business with solar panels up in Mesquite Nevada and asks a lot of missionaries to go work with them for a few days and he wants me to come. What a guy On Wednesday we had an exchange with the district leader and it was so fun. I was with elder Kennedy up in their area of Hummelstown. It was such an amazing day full of some weird and fun experiences. We really didn't find anyone that whole day but I had some very fun in-depth conversations with elder Kennedy and we bonded really well and had lots of fun. I we had another exchange with the Zone leaders and I was with elder Hewett on thursday. I was up in their area of Harrisburg and it was so fun. With a lot of crazy miracles happen. Near the end of the night we we're just doing some finding trying to be really inspired and just driving around. We stop by this lady who immediately accepted a message about the atonement and let us in and we talked to her for quite a while and she was really awesome. We then stopped by one of their friends and he was in the shower and so we told him that we had something to deliver him and we came back 45 minutes later and he was there and we shared a message about the Book of Mormon and gave one to him, what an awesome experience. We have been not finding much success this week inside of the work and just having trying to figure out the area with all the boundary changes that happened. We've been praying for families and people to teach. On Saturday the last couple doors that we were knocking we were just praying for someone to teach and that would come to church. We had been fighting so much opposition that day and no one was answering her letting us in. We knocked the store and they didn't answer but while we were in the middle of the street she opened the door and there was this High School aged girl who was really interested in just coming to church the next day with her mom and we didn't really think much of it. She then showed up to church with her mom and they loved it and want to meet with us. Sometimes you just have to have patience in the Lord will reward your efforts even though sometimes they may be hard. Even doing lots of member work this week because Hershey is a very member strong area with a great Ward. After the boundary Transit we just don't have that much success in terms of finding and so we're trying to focus on member work a lot and it's been doing really good but we're trying to trust in the process right now and shake up the box. “By small and simple things are great things brought to pass” (Alma 37:6). We are taught many small and simple things in the gospel of Jesus Christ. We need to be reminded that in total and over a significant period of time, these seemingly small things bring to pass great things. So is the powerful effect over time of the small and simple things we are taught in the scriptures and by living prophets. Consider the scripture study we’ve been taught to incorporate into our daily lives. Or consider the personal prayers and the kneeling family prayers that are regular practices for faithful Latter-day Saints. Consider attendance at seminary for youth or institute classes for young adults. Though each of these practices may seem to be small and simple, over time they result in powerful spiritual uplift and growth. This occurs because each of these small and simple things invites the companionship of the Holy Ghost, the Testifier who enlightens us and guides us into truth, as President Eyring has explained. President Steven C. Wheelwright gave an audience at Brigham Young University–Hawaii this inspired description of Alma’s teaching: “Alma confirms for his son that indeed the pattern the Lord follows when we exercise faith in Him and follow His counsel in small and simple things is that He blesses us with small daily miracles, and over time, with marvelous works.” President Howard W. Hunter taught that “frequently it is the commonplace tasks … that have the greatest positive effect on the lives of others, as compared with the things that the world so often relates to greatness.” With Love, Elder Batman
