Week 29; Prayers Answered 🙏🏻

Photo Album: https://photos.app.goo.gl/QuW5JQQJL6emqhb68 We had an exchange with the Zone Leaders on tuesday and I was with Elder Ridgwell. We were in Northside and we pretty much just went downtown for most of the day talking to people. I've had a few exchanges with Elder Ridgwell in the past and so it was nice to be with him again. During our time downtime we encountered some cool people. This one guy had read the whole Book of Mormon and was citing scriptures from it. During our conversation with this elect guy, a random dude walks up who we've never seen before and puts down his bag, pulls out a Book of Mormon, hands it to the guy we were talking with, and just walks away while saying absolutely nothing the whole time. Might be John the Beloved. During our knocking block at the end of our day we knocked into this elect lady named Breonna who talked to us from her balcony. I knew she was cool when we asked her if she thinks there's more word of god out there and she s...

Week 28; ZoCo

Photo Album: https://photos.app.goo.gl/QuW5JQQJL6emqhb68 We had Zone Conference on Thursday and it was so good. It was my first time being on the east side in the Cranberry Chapel since I've been on the west side my whole mission so far. President Hoffman really focused on the Book of Mormon and specifically how we can use it more effectively inside missionary work. He first gave a speech about history dating back to Christ's time of how his church fell away. One thing that stood out to me is how we a lot of the times don't understand how to teach from the Book of Mormon and an easy way to do that is by bridging it to the Bible. For example, in Ephesians 4 it says, "Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all." In Mosiah 18 it bridges perfectly ...

Week 27; 3 Exchanges

Photo Album: https://photos.app.goo.gl/QuW5JQQJL6emqhb68 On Tuesday we had an exchange with the aps and it was so fun. I was with Elder Verdine and we had just an amazing day. I got to lead out north side and we had some lessons that just didn't go through the whole day. We met this guy named Chris he was born Catholic and went away from it a bit. We talked to him a while about the Book of Mormon and just beliefs in general and his beliefs almost completely aligned with ours and we gave him a book of Mormon and he said he would read it and maybe come to church. He was sick this Sunday and so he wasn't able to come but it was pretty cool experience. We met this other guy named Bob which was the same type of teaching but he was Lutheran and still is and so we just discussed for a while about Adam and Eve and our views on it and the book of mormon. He said that he would read it as well and possibly set up another time to meet with us. We then had to head back to the church at 6...

Week 26; I Love The Warmth

Photo Album: https://photos.app.goo.gl/QuW5JQQJL6emqhb68 On Thursday we went on an exchange with the Southside Elders. I was in Southside with Elder Hall. He just got out of training and so it was a fun time to be able to just work hard all day because he's a very hard worker. We had a funny moment at McDonald's where we wanted to get some ice-cream because we had been low energy all day. We got a bonus McFlurry and 10pc Chicken Nuggets all for free, what a miracle. We got slammed all day and found almost no success in all the rain that was coming down. We did have some great opportunities to share and give out copies of the Book of Mormon to 5+ people. Recently I've been working on teaching the Book of Mormon with questions and I found a lot of success out of doing that with Elder Hall that day. He is a powerful missionary and I was glad to have a day with him. We had exchange on Saturday with the Zone Leaders. I was with Elder Bylund and got to lead out Northside with...

Week 25; Baptisms, Pittsburgh, Buzz

Photo Album: https://photos.app.goo.gl/QuW5JQQJL6emqhb68 This was a crazy week, lots of stuff happened. First of all we had a baptism on Tuesday with this part member family we had been teaching pretty much everything and then hand it off to the other Elders when the boundary changes happened. Little Abigail got baptized and i was so happy to see her and her brother soon to be baptized as well. Transfers happened as well this week and I was sad to leave Elder McCurdy but excited for the future. I'm going to be in the city of Pittsburgh in the north side area. I'm going to be with elder heelis and he's a district leader so that's pretty fun. Pittsburgh's been so fun to do missionary work inside of and there's a lot of interesting people to talk with. We're not really in downtown much, we're just in the surrounding little neighborhoods so it's pretty normal as for the missionary work but it's pretty cool to see the city just right around us and...
