Week 25; Baptisms, Pittsburgh, Buzz

Photo Album: https://photos.app.goo.gl/QuW5JQQJL6emqhb68 This was a crazy week, lots of stuff happened. First of all we had a baptism on Tuesday with this part member family we had been teaching pretty much everything and then hand it off to the other Elders when the boundary changes happened. Little Abigail got baptized and i was so happy to see her and her brother soon to be baptized as well. Transfers happened as well this week and I was sad to leave Elder McCurdy but excited for the future. I'm going to be in the city of Pittsburgh in the north side area. I'm going to be with elder heelis and he's a district leader so that's pretty fun. Pittsburgh's been so fun to do missionary work inside of and there's a lot of interesting people to talk with. We're not really in downtown much, we're just in the surrounding little neighborhoods so it's pretty normal as for the missionary work but it's pretty cool to see the city just right around us and we drive through it a lot. We had to prepare for another baptism with our good friend Angela and she's awesome. She had been taught a lot by the green tree sisters and then she got handed off to the north side elders and we've been teaching her ever since and we had the amazing opportunity to baptize her on sunday. Is disabled in her legs and so she has to use a walker and so we had to pull be in the font with her to a sister. I was also able to give her the Holy Ghost so that was pretty cool. Angela is the Furious lady ever and super elect is going to be a great member. My companion Elder healers and pretty much every other District leader in zone leader in the zone have been peer pressuring me to get a buzz cut because I have to since I'm in the city apparently. And so we did a challenge where if we would get 30 finds as a Zone which is really hard to do then I would have to get a buzz. And they got 35 and so I had to buzz my hair again. Good news is is that it doesn't look that bad and I'm on a mission so it doesn't really matter that much about my hair and it will just grow back in time. Mosiah 3:19 "For the natural man is an enemy to God, and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be, forever and ever, unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit, and putteth off the natural man and becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord, and becometh as a child, submissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict upon him, even as a child doth submit to his father." The verse starts by describing the "natural man" as an enemy to God, highlighting our inherent tendency to prioritize self over divine will. This state is characterized by pride, selfishness, and a lack of spiritual awareness. But there's hope, the verse points to a transformative process, where we can become "a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord." This involves yielding to the Holy Spirit's guidance and Putting off the natural man. Becoming like a child, with qualities like Submission, Meekness, Humility, Patience, and Love. The analogy of a child is significant. Children trust their parents implicitly, relying on them for everything. Similarly, we're invited to trust God's goodness and sovereignty, even in uncertain times. There's a difference there between being childlike and childish. Being "childlike" means embracing trust, humility, and simplicity in your relationship with God, like a child trusting their parent. In contrast, being "childish" implies immaturity, self-centeredness, and a lack of spiritual growth. The difference lies in attitude: childlike trust focuses on God, while childish behavior prioritizes self. With Love, Elder Batman
