On Tuesday we had an exchange with Southside and I was with the wonderful Elder Fackrell. We had a great day full of teaching opportunities. We had service at the food bank for a little while which pushed our day back. We met this cool crip walking while he was doordashing. We met this cool guy named Oz (Ounce) just walking around and while we were talking with him there was this lady walking by and I stopped her. She had a church already but was interested in checking out ours. I taught her about the Book of Mormon and set up a time to come back. While that was all happening Elder Fackrell had just finished talking with Oz and this guy crashed his bike and just came up to him and talked for a while. We found a lot of people in 1 place, so awesome. Near the end of the night while we were doing calls at the Overlook. We ran into these two girls and talk to them for a while about the gospel. They had some questions about polygamy and ended up wanting to come to church and meet with missionaries. We got pictures with them, it was an incredible experience. Elder Fackrell is an amazing missionary and we had a great day of hard work really focusing on teaching simply according to needs.
Our car for a while now has had it passenger side headlight completely out and fogged up with water. On Wednesday we want to a place to go get it fixed and after an hour waiting they came up to us and said that they couldn't even fix the light due to how the car was made. The next day we went to the Toyota dealership and they did an Emissions test, Safety test, Oil Change, and Tire Rotation. While waiting for 2 hours inside the dealership our driving instructor brought us some food and talked with the people. Due to some accident with the car in the past they couldn't fix the light with coverage and the church would have to pay $1,600 for a replacement light. After four hours we finally got out of everything and ended Up with the oldest car in the mission the 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan, it is a really nice car to drive though. What a wasted day.
We dropped our most progressing friends on date for baptism Bao and Emmanuel due to them not coming to church once again and ghosting us. It is unfortunate but I know that the Lord could provide someone for us. Lo and behold, the same day we dropped them that sunday night we knocked into this wonderful family. This 17 year old girl Fuchure was someone who had been taught in the past and she came out with her 16 year old cousin Keyla. We taught them the full Gospel of Jesus Christ lesson built on the book of mormon. Near the end their mom Tequila came back with her 9 year old daughter Zha'asia. We talked to her about how we want to help all of them work towards baptism and coming to church. We ended up setting a lesson with all 4 of them for tuesday and there are more able to be taught in the house. What a miracle, the lord provides, creating an eternal family.
Jacob 6:12 "O be wise; what can I say more?"
